At the Platform stage, located between Orange Stage and Gloria, you’ll encounter concerts, dance shows and hybrid formats that stand apart from the rest of the festival.
With open angles of entry, 360-degree views and movable elements, Platform creates a unique space between the artists on stage and the audience.
Facts: About Platform
Platform is curated by a volunteer team from Art & Activism. Throughout the year, the group works to craft a programme that combines art and activism in engaging and sensory ways.
The curators explore current trends and artists, meeting regularly for collective sparring and workshops where ideas are developed together. The goal is to create powerful experiences in a large, open stage setting.
Exploring the Platform programme can be quite overwhelming, which is why we’ve asked Platform curator Nina Rasmussen to highlight three of the most striking shows.
“The programme speaks to the gut, the heart, the head and the hips – and you’re guaranteed to have something to talk about with your friends after experiencing Platform.”

At Roskilde Festival, acclaimed British artist Matt Copson will live-animate his monumental laser projections for the very first time. Inspired by folklore, opera and the 1950s son et lumière tradition, his work takes laser art to new heights.
“It’ll be a visual mindfuck where people, mythical creatures and ghost-like giants blend together. I hope the visuals will completely blow people away – it’s not what you expect to see at a festival,” says Nina Rasmussen.

Friday night 4 July* 00:00, Platform

The body becomes artwork, instrument and rebellion in Göksu Kunak’s visual and intense performance JUBILEE. Drawing on bodybuilding, feminist art and TV aesthetics, Platform transforms into a living collage where audiences move between stations and are confronted with the many forms and meanings of the body.
“You should prepare for full sensory stimulation. It’s an intense and lavish aesthetic – with pole dancing, bodybuilding, high heels and a massive lift. It’s going to be epic!”
Göksu Kunak:

Friday 4 July 20.45, Platform
