MYCO

Temporary architecture for festivals

MYCO works with biodegradable mycelium-based composite materials (MBC); a mixture of mushroom mycelium and straw from agriculture. With the material, architecture can be built for temporary events, such as pavilions, benches, shaded half-roofs for shelter from rain and sun.

Mycelium-based composite materials are a circular material, with a very low climate footprint. The building elements are grown in casts two months before the festival, and can then be composted efter the event.

The malleability of the material makes it possible to make tailor-made building elements, which can create an attractive and exciting temporary architecture and go a little further than wooden battens and angle brackets.

MYCO at The Circular Lab

MYCO will participate in the Circular Lab for the first time in 2024

At Roskilde Festival 2024, you can meet MYCO for the first time, where they will test and further develop their concept together with the festival's guests.
