Low production costs have led to excessive production abroad and a lack of product personalization, resulting in increased emissions as transport routes become longer and products are disposed of prematurely.
Studio Exakt is investigating how we can reduce emissions for home furnishing products with 3D printing to enable local production and product customization. They do this by inviting the consumer to the design process and defining desired types of materials, shapes and textures.
