With a voice of pure gold, Brazilian artist Bruno Berle conjures up a universe that exudes genre bending explorations, sensitivity and a fantastic ear for a good melody.
Bruno Berle's music exists between two worlds – traditional Brazilian folk music with deep roots in history and modern, dreamy electronic pop. The result is songwriting that in a deeply personal way explores and rethinks Brazil's rich musical heritage, making him one of the most prominent figures in a new wave of Brazilian artists that also includes names such as Ana Frango Elétrico, Tim Bernardes, Bala Desejo and others.
With the album No Reino Dos Afetos from 2022, he established his name as a poetic and original voice in Brazilian music. The album was followed in 2024 by No Reino Dos Afetos 2, which expands the sonic palette while painting a deeply personal portrait of an artist celebrating a black queer identity. Musically, Berle sweeps the listener off their feet, not only with his exquisite voice and melodic sensibility, but also with an ability to unite elements of delicate bossa nova and Brazilian pop with modern autotune vocals, lo-fi beats, ambient atmospheres and trip hop-infused moods. The result exudes Brazilian roots, but also reveals an artist who draws inspiration from musicians such as Feist, Sade, James Blake and Arthur Russell.
Bruno Berle is not only a significant name on the Brazilian scene, but is also well on his way to seducing the rest of the world with his multifaceted and dreamy universe. He is currently working on new material, and we look forward to experiencing both new songs and material from his first two albums when this talented artist visits Roskilde Festival this summer.
