With explosive speed, the mask-wearing rapper EsDeeKid has moved from underground to viral phenomenon, and with the release of his debut album Rebel in 2025, he has emerged as one of the most distinctive voices on the new British hip-hop scene.
Together with names such as Fakemink and Rico Ace, he has breathed new life into British rap, not least with their joint hit "LV Sandals", which was hailed as an underground anthem in early 2025. Gradually, however, it has become clear that EsDeeKid has made the leap from the underground to the big stage without compromising his raw style, which combines elements of UK drill, trap and cloud rap.
Musically, EsDeeKid alternates between stoned grooves and hard-boiled attacks with quirky loops, raw bass and lo-fi sounding beats that lay a solid foundation for the rapper's strong rhythmic flow. The lyrics are fired off in rapid bursts, heavily influenced by the rapper's Scouse dialect from his hometown of Liverpool, which helps give him a personal sound.
In the wake of the release of Rebel, EsDeeKid has toured extensively and proven himself to be a strong live performer who really knows how to get a crowd going. This talent has also earned him recognition from Yung Lean, who has taken EsDeeKid on tour with him. This summer, Denmark will finally have the opportunity to get acquainted with England's new rap sensation when he visits Roskilde Festival.
