A sonic and visual total experience in a magical electronic universe

Iglooghost makes music that sounds like a collision between the forces of nature and an overheated computer brain. Behind the name is Bristol-based artist Seamus Malliagh, who builds entire worlds of sound, mythology, and visuals – a musical universe where glitched fantasy meets the natural world, and everything is in constant motion.

Already as a teenager, he impressed with the EP Chinese Nü Yr, released in 2015 on Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder, and since then he has expanded his sound with ever more ambitious narratives. Most recently with the 2024 album Tidal Memory Exo, created in an abandoned garage squat in a storm-beaten British coastal town, where brown waves, rusted pipes, and relentless wind set the tone.

Tidal Memory Exo was completed in a former prison in Bristol – the door literally clanging shut behind him – and the sound is as claustrophobic and intense as the surroundings. Upon its release, the album was widely praised, including by the internet’s busiest music nerd, Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop, who hailed it as one of the best electronic releases of the year.

This universe unfolds on stage, where visuals, set design, and strange creatures from Iglooghost’s self-created tidal zone transform the space into a flickering, theatrical chaos of light and sound. When he hits Roskilde Festival, expect a total experience where electronic euphoria and creative madness go hand in hand.
