Join us as we celebrate Palestinian culture and gather for dialogue and reflection in solidarity with Palestine

    Workshop: Palestinian/Jewish Alliance, 15:00, Flokkr Container #2
  • Tuesday 2 July
    17:45, Flokkr

During First Days at Flokkr and through songs, food, and personal stories from Palestine, we will create a space where we, collectively and across cultural differences and perspectives, come together to strengthen hope for peace and a free Palestine.

The event's host, Fahad Saeed, will introduce the evening's program and guide us through the various segments of the program. After that, the Danish-Palestinian musician Dana Alshihaby will fill Flokkr with her beautiful acoustic music, while the Palestinian/Jewish Alliance, through storytelling, will focus on their shared history as Palestinians and Jews respectively.

Finally, we gather around a meal with local ingredients from the Palestine area. Here, Amneh Hawwa from the Danish Palestinian Women Organization (DAPAWO) will introduce the ingredients and talk about how these connect the Palestinian food culture and the resistance struggle.

Dana Alshihaby is a Palestinian activist and singer. Drawing inspiration from her own culture, she mixes languages and music genres and takes us on a musical journey across borders.

Fahad Saeed is a diversity consultant who advises Danish and international clients on what he calls the 'rolling conversation on diversity and inclusion.' In addition, Fahad has served as a moderator for countless debates, conferences, and workshops, particularly on topics related to equality, discrimination, and minority perspectives in various contexts.

DAPAWO is an independent association created by a group of Danish and resident Palestinian women. DAPAWO's purpose is to inform about the conditions of Palestinian women in Denmark and Palestine and to support projects for the benefit of women in Palestine.

The Palestinian/Jewish Alliance is a group of young Palestinians and Jews, formed shortly after 7 October 2023 to support a free Palestine. They work through storytelling, information, and dialogue.

Earlier in the day, the Palestinian/Jewish Alliance will host a workshop in the Flokkr containers. The workshop will unfold as an intimate space where the Palestinian/Jewish Alliance will facilitate an interactive exchange, allowing guests to share their thoughts and hopes for the future of Palestine. There will be audio tracks telling the individual stories of some Jewish and Palestinian members, while you can express your own perspectives and stories through writing or images. By the end, the workshop will have evolved into a culmination of different thoughts, ideas, dreams, and hopes for a brighter future for Palestine.
