In 2023, Denmark’s D1MA mesmerized the crowd at Roskilde Festival with a tour de force of a night concert on the Arena stage. Now one of the most remarkable figures in new Danish rap and pop music is getting ready to take the Orange Stage on Thursday night with new music and his only show in 2025.
D1MA is an enigma in Danish music. Anonymous, mask-wearing and yet an artist who has both critics and audiences in the palm of his hand, and with whom some of today's greatest Danish musicians are lining up to collaborate. Early in his career, he was touted as one of Denmark's best rappers, but he has since transcended that box and created a hybrid of hip hop, pop and electronic music with room for both EDM-inspired club hits and soulful dives into melancholic ballads.
He has released music with some of Danish music’s leading stars such as Medina and Tobias Rahim and really cemented his status in the top league of Danish music with his debut album EV1GT&ALT1D from 2023. That same year, he also showed his format as a live artist with his performance at Roskilde Festival, where, according to Danish music magazine Soundvenues reviewer, D1MA took on the character of a dark angel on a stage that was equal parts club and church.
It seems fitting that after a long break from the live scene, D1MA returns to Roskilde Festival with new music for his only concert of the year. We dare to predict that something big is in store when the mask-wearing icon takes the Orange Stage.
