A healing journey through futuristic R&B and rave culture from visionary pop star

  • Thursday 3 July

With her new album Eusexua, FKA Twigs proves that she's still in a league of her own when it comes to delivering electronic pop music and R&B with room for both artistic innovation and pure euphoria. Now, the boundary-pushing English star is finally coming to Roskilde Festival, where she was due to play in 2021.

Since her debut album LP1 from 2014, FKA Twigs has set the bar high with ambitious creations that have expanded the possibilities of pop. "Like David Bowie and Björk before her, she's an iconoclast whose outsized imagination is comet-like, seemingly impossible to contain," Vogue aptly wrote of the original pop auteur, who has certainly not let her guard down on Eusexua, her first proper album since 2019’s masterpiece Magdalene.

In the intervening period, she has released the mixtape Caprisongs (2022) and immersed herself in acting with a leading role in the remake of the Gothic film The Crow. While filming in Prague, she immersed herself in the city's rave scene, which became a fundamental inspiration for Eusexua. A visionary pop masterpiece with a beating heart rooted in rave culture as a healing space for body and soul.

The album has already been heralded as another milestone in pop music, being compared to Madonna's Ray of Light in a glowing review from Pitchfork. We are proud to finally bring FKA Twigs' futuristic pop universe to Roskilde Festival, and with the release of Eusexua the timing could hardly be better.
