"It was a concert that exceeded all expectations and proved why Paydar is one of the most exciting DJs on the current music scene". So said a superlative review from Danish music site Bands of Tomorrow when the Iranian/Danish DJ delivered a triumph of a show at Roskilde Festival in 2024.
Here, she created a lavish and inclusive dance party during the First Days program. A party that definitely created a thirst for more. So it's a great pleasure to welcome Paydar back to this year's Roskilde Festival program, where she promises a bigger and even wilder show.
Raised in Denmark as the child of Iranian refugees, Paydar has made a name for herself as a fantastic DJ who draws on a wealth of musical and cultural references and performs as part of the artist collective Final Planet. In 2024, she released her first EP, Middlebeatz.
Paydar is known for highly engaging shows where her skills at the DJ booth mix with live elements, stunning visuals and a huge energy, and where it's impossible not to get carried away by her eclectic and danceable style. Here hip-hop and Persian pop meet Arabic house and Brazilian baile funk in a joyful mix, at the same time futuristic, nostalgic and contemporary.
