With poignant vocal harmonies, alternative instrumentation and a curious approach to deep traditions, Polish trio Sutari bring the stories of folk music to life for a modern audience.

Their debut album, Wiano, was released 10 years ago and quickly put them on the map as one of the most interesting names on the progressive folk music scene. Since then, they have played at numerous international festivals and made a name for themselves as a trio that combines the acoustic nerve of folk music with modern experimentation and a ritual magic that enchants audiences.

Sutari uses folk music to give voice to the oppressed, with both a clear feminist agenda and a call to protect the nature in which humans also have their life-giving roots. Both feminism and eco-criticism feature strongly on their latest album, #LullabiesForTheWorld, using the lullaby format to comfort, heal and strengthen life-giving communities.

Although Sutari's themes are heavy, you can also look forward to a band that takes the stage with outgoing nerve, charm and a playful musical approach when they visit Roskilde Festival.
