Conditions and criteria for media accreditation

If you are a journalist, photographer, influencer, or similar (hereafter referred to as "the media") and wish to carry out editorial work at Roskilde Festival, you must apply for accreditation in advance.

When processing accreditation applications, we prioritise ensuring a diverse mix of media across genres and interests.

When assessing applications, we consider the following criteria:

  • The media outlet must appear serious and professional.
  • The application must outline concrete editorial goals, focus areas, and target audiences.
  • The overall pool of accreditations must represent Roskilde Festival's core themes, such as music, volunteering, art, activism, architecture, green transition, gastronomy, technology, emerging cultural scenes, social sustainability, innovation, and more.
  • Roskilde Festival must not be portrayed merely as a "background setting" for an activity that could have taken place under different circumstances.
  • If the applicant has been accredited in previous years, they must submit coverage from past editions to be considered in the application review process.
  • The application must be submitted before the deadline (15 May 2025).

Before applying, please note the following:

  • Not all applicants will be accredited. You increase your chances by addressing the above criteria in your application.
  • Media accreditation is granted solely for editorial coverage. Without prior written agreement with Roskilde Festival, it is not permitted to use the festival's name, trademarks, or symbols for marketing purposes. It is also not allowed to carry out marketing activities while at Roskilde Festival, including making audio or visual recordings for commercial purposes without the festival’s permission.
  • With accreditation comes the responsibility to respect the festival’s free space. Festivalgoers may—consciously or unconsciously—end up being portrayed in ways they do not wish. It is the media’s responsibility to respect this free space in any coverage. Approved accreditation also serves as an agreement to uphold this principle.
  • If you wish to carry out larger productions (e.g., feature films or documentaries) at Roskilde Festival, we strongly encourage you to apply well in advance. These applications take longer to process, as such productions often require different and more complex levels of service, guidance, mobility, and access.
