- Friday 4 July
When Barbro and Mija Milovic come together in the project Big Fan, it is with a shared vision to challenge the concert format and push the boundaries of what music can be. Both artists have individually made a strong mark on the Danish alternative music scene – Barbro with their intense, raw songwriting and Mija Milovic with their experimental, genre-defying compositions. Together, they create a shared universe where art rock, post-rock, and improvisation merge into a deeply transformative expression.
Big Fan is more than just a musical collaboration – it is an artistic movement. With a background in theatre and performance art, Milovic takes an unorthodox approach to songwriting, breaking conventional structures and opening the door to musical liberation. Barbro, on the other hand, is deeply engaged in themes of vulnerability and political protest, most recently expressed in their joint song Wall of Mine, a powerful protest anthem for Palestine.
Their concert at Roskilde Festival will be their first major performance as a duo, and the audience can expect a highly interactive experience where improvisation and co-creation play central roles. With a progressive songwriting approach and an uncompromising drive to explore the transformative power of music, Big Fan invites the audience into a space where nothing is fixed, and anything can happen.
Before their Roskilde premiere, Big Fan will play an exclusive concert at the Copenhagen venue Alice in May, where they will test their experimental concert format. This will serve as a dress rehearsal for a performance that will undoubtedly defy expectations and demonstrate why this duo is one of the most exciting new projects on the Danish music scene.
