Progressive jazz supergroup in search of new sonic landscapes

Hypnotic improvisations, meditative atmospheres and wild sonic journeys open up to the audience when Flock takes the stage.

Flock is a true supergroup, uniting five prominent figures from the UK's progressive jazz scene. They are also five musicians with their antennae pointed towards a global network of influences, and they have wondrously combined their many inspirations into a sound that draws on spiritual jazz, minimalism, electro-acoustic compositions, and playful improvisations.

Musicians Bex Burch, Sarathy Korwar, Tamar Osborn (Dele Sosimi), Danalogue (The Comet Is Coming) and Al MacSween (Kefaya) came together for their self-titled debut album, released on Strut Records in 2022 and recorded over one intense day in London. The excellent follow-up Flock II (2024) was created over a week on the Welsh coast near the mystical Druidstone, which also colors the album's cosmic energy.

On the album, the five open-minded musicians explore a collective creative consciousness through different structures, compositional approaches and playing techniques. It is rare for this extraordinary group to play live, so there is good reason to look forward to their visit to Roskilde Festival, where you can expect an intense and immersive listening experience.
