Nala Sinephro's music has been called both meditative and an heir to the spiritual jazz of Alice Coltrane. While this is all true, it only captures a small corner of the visionary musician and producer's expansive musical universe that not only bridges jazz and electronic music, but also touches on folk, minimalism, and psychedelic moods along the way.
After winning critical acclaim for her debut album Space 1.8 (2021), she truly made her name with the 2024 album Endlessness (Warp Records), which was hailed as a masterpiece in leading music media.
"This is music that is good for the ear, the mind, the heart, and the very future of the philosophical orientations of jazz," PopMatters wrote of the sumptuous work, where bubbling modular synths and acoustic harp playing merge seamlessly and Sinephro is joined by jazz saxophonist Nubya Garcia and prog drummer Morgan Simpson (Black Midi).
With Caribbean-Belgian roots, Sinephro has established herself as one of the most forward-thinking names on the progressive London jazz scene. Now she's ready to bring her cosmic compositions to Roskilde Festival for her first Danish concert.
