It's set to be one of those special magical nights on the Orange Stage this summer when Britain's Jamie xx unfolds his electronic club universe.

Jamie xx has helped define the music of the last few decades, first with indie band The xx, then as an acclaimed DJ and remixer, working with legend Gil Scott-Heron on the album We're New Here. In 2024, Jamie xx elevated his status to new heights with the album In Waves, packed with epic bangers, a fiery energy, melancholic depths and a dazzling lineup of guest artists (The Avalanches, Panda Bear, Robyn, Romy, Oliver Sim, and many more).  

The album marked the end of a nine-year collective and impatient thirst for new music from Jamie xx, who in 2015 released the critically acclaimed and genre-defining debut In Colour – a milestone in electronic music that garnered widespread praise from critics.

With In Waves, Jamie xx is definitely back, and critics have been quick to hail the album as a triumph. The subsequent live shows have also been praised for their ability to bring an intimate club atmosphere to large venues and festival stages. We will no doubt experience the same when Jamie xx finally returns to Roskilde Festival.
