As the first UK artist signed to Phoebe Bridgers' label Saddest Factory Records, Manchester artist Jasmine.4.T.'s debut album You Are The Morning has been surrounded by much anticipation.
However, it's not hard to understand why Bridgers - who produced the album himself alongside his boygenius collaborators Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker - has fallen in love with Jasmine.4.T.'s songs and voice, which hits the listener with a rare authentic nerve and artistic integrity.
With elements of tender indie pop, folk and alternative rock, Jasmine.4.T. conjures up touching tales of life as a trans woman. She makes no secret of the fact that for her, songwriting is both a space to talk about her own feelings, but also a place where she can give voice and visibility to a larger trans community. For the same reason, she has also gathered around her a band made up entirely of trans people.
Her songs, however, are for everyone and touch on basic human emotions of friendship and loneliness, joys and sorrows, lifted by excellent melodies and masterful lyricism. "The record asserts itself with a beautifully framed sense of character, graceful in its approach and empathetic in its revelation," wrote Clash about You Are The Morning, released in early 2025. Now Jasmine.4.T. and her amazing band bring the songs to Roskilde Festival.
