Nate Amos is a man who holds the alternative music banner high, as witnessed when he performed a stunning concert with his duo Water From Your Eyes at Roskilde Festival in 2024.
His knack for combining intelligent songwriting, quirky musical detours and a charming DIY approach is evident in his solo project This Is Lorelei, which has served as a generous release channel for the creative songwriter for over a decade.
In that time, This Is Lorelei has posted countless singles, EPs and albums on his Bandcamp page, and the standard is impressively high with numerous musical gems. However, it wasn't until 2024 that This Is Lorelei emerged with an album in wider distribution in the form of Box For Buddy, Box For Star. The album is a testament to Amos' versatility as a songwriter and his knack for wrapping his quirky and touching stories in an eclectic mix of indie folk, country, soft rock, slacker and adorable pop.
The album was praised by critics, including Pitchfork, who compared Nate Amos to the likes of The Magnetic Fields. With Box For Buddy, Box For Star, Nate Amos has really brought This Is Lorelei to a wider audience, and fortunately, it has also made him want to tour with the project, which will visit Roskilde Festival this summer.
