London artist Lola Young has set the music scene on fire with a style that combines raw attitude, unfiltered lyrics and unique vocals that draw on pop, soul and R&B.
"Essential, captivatingly messy pop" wrote NME in a top review of Lola Young's second album, This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway, which was released in 2024 and truly put her music on the map. Before that, however, she had paved the way with a series of strong EPs and not least the viral hit "Don't Hate Me" from the 2023 album My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely.
Artists such as Madonna, Michael Stipe and SZA have signed on as fans of the young talent, and Tyler, The Creator invited her to appear on his latest album, Chromakopia.
Musically, Lola Young draws on the energy of indie rock, the raw language of hip-hop and the emotional depths of soul music, and it all flows into irresistible pop songs that go straight to the heart. Not least when Lola Young performs them live with vocal power and a vital stage presence that we can't wait to experience at Roskilde Festival.
