Despite her understated and almost humble approach, young singer-songwriter Mina Okabe has struck a chord with people all over the world. She makes no secret of the fact that she uses her songs to talk about personal experiences and emotions. Her ability to transform lived life into songs with a universal power is evidenced by her millions of streams.
Born and raised in London, Okabe's biological roots are Danish-Japanese and she has lived in different cities, absorbing life and culture from New York to Manila. Her debut album Better Days (2021) garnered a lot of attention in Denmark, where songs like "I'm Done", "Every Second" and "Walk Away" have been big hits.
However, it's not just Denmark that has taken notice of Okabe, who has gained a massive fan base in places like South Korea and Japan and made a strong impact at festivals such as Seoul Jazz Festival, Local Green Festival and South by Southwest. Coincidentally, Okabe now resides in Japan, fully focused on further developing her name in Asia.
Down-to-earth experiences, dreamy moods and catchy pop embrace the listener when Okabe sings. We experienced this at Roskilde Festival in 2022. Now the star is returning to Roskilde with one of her only Danish shows this year, where she will also present brand new songs.
