With Østen, Denmark has gained a new and remarkable singer and songwriter who manages to orchestrate some of life's most difficult emotions in magnificent melodies and productions that have quickly made him one of the most hyped new names.
Østen is not entirely new, however, as he has been working behind the scenes as a songwriter for several years, collaborating with producer Frederik Thaae on some of the major Danish releases such as Danish rap titan Artigeardit's Længe Leve and Barselona's Væbnet Hjerte .
With his first single "Regn", released in early 2024, he struck a chord with the audiences and made it clear that he is ready to move from the control room and onto the big stages. The single was quickly followed by the masterful debut album Daylight, which garnered praise for its ability to embrace themes of rootlessness, depression and anxiety. All in ambitious songs that, despite their emotional heaviness, are extremely engaging in their majestic pop appeal.
Live, Østen manages to surround himself with some of Denmark's most talented musicians, who together lift the large-scale arrangements on stage. Now Østen and his amazing band are ready to deliver an unforgettable experience at Roskilde Festival.
