Famous for his uncompromising analog approach to creating electronic music and for being one of the foremost heirs to Detroit's seminal techno and house wave, Omar S is a legendary figure on the modern techno scene.
Since his emergence in the early 2000s, he has released a string of strong releases, primarily on his own label FXHE Records Detroit. Although his name is inevitably woven into the history of Detroit techno and house, he is an artist who insists on maintaining his own voice and authenticity without regard to trends. Both in the raw productions, the analog aesthetic and in the actual release of the music, he swears by a DIY approach. Not for nothing is an Omar S album from 2013 called Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself.
For over two decades, Omar S has maintained a staggeringly high level of quality and continues to put out strong releases. In 2025, he released the house-inspired EP Something Real, a testament to his ability to continue creating rhythmic magic with minimal means.
Omar S is an extremely rare guest in Scandinavia, which is why we are so proud that he will bring his visionary and raw sound to Roskilde Festival this summer.
