With his Nordic coolness and dripping trap beats, Wicky has quickly established himself as a cult name in the Danish rap scene.
Following the release of his short but razor-sharp albums Sab drenge and 2 hjerter in 2022, Wicky truly took flight in 2023, cementing his innovative style with the album Sabbeste. A style that merges melodic rage rap with the subgenre new jazz – the boundary-pushing little brother of trap – pulled straight up from the underground. In 2024, he followed up with the EP Evigt Op, which Danish media Soundvenue declared one of the year’s most important releases, stating that it signaled “the arrival of a new vibe in Danish hip hop”.
Despite his strong foundation in the underground, Wicky stands on the brink of a major breakthrough. His latest release Sab til verden is a testament to this – an EP that flirt with a more polished production style, while still maintaining Wicky’s signature raw sound. One great example is the collaboration with Danish rap star Kesi on the song "Brummer", where the perfect balance between underground grit and mainstream appeal is heard.
The “SAB community”, as Wicky’s dedicated fanbase calls itself, isn’t the only one predicting a bright future for the Danish rapper. Soundvenue has also forecasted 2025 as his big breakthrough year. In other words, there’s every reason to follow Kesi’s lead and join the SAB community when Wicky takes the stage at Roskilde Festival.
