Danish quartet Aphaca have quickly gained a solid hold on audiences with their warm and catchy songs that combine a youthful and fresh tone with classic, timeless pop craftsmanship.
The band, which consists of four childhood friends Rumle Hueg Kærså, Bertil Engberg Nielsen, Bertram Ask Plauborg and Noah Elias Rasmussen, grew out of the creative atmosphere at Det Frie Gymnasium in Copenhagen. Their close friendship and unity is like a beating heart in their songs, overflowing with the dreams of youth and an organic interplay where retro synth and acoustic guitar intertwine with strong vocal harmonies and groovy rhythms.
Aphaca burst onto the music scene in 2019 with the charming single "Blomsterbørn", followed in 2022 by their debut album Et aar uden dig. Since then, word of the band has spread quickly, not least thanks to their intense concerts where the poignant melodies are brought to life with an irresistible nerve.
2024 brought two acclaimed EPs that together paint a picture of a Danish-language pop band of a rare class. "Kiss more at concerts" is the motto on the band's T-shirts, and there will be plenty of opportunity for that when they bring their wonderful pop party to Roskilde Festival this summer.
