TUESDAY 1 JULY

Alternative rock with post-punk curiosity and epic choruses

  • Tuesday 1 July

The young Danish band Bænch is living proof that rock is far from dead. With a sound that draws on 80s post-punk, 90s grunge and 00s alternative rock greats like The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand, they deliver highly catchy songs with room for both sonic experimentation and huge choruses.

Dark guitars, expressive synth lines and melodic vocals create a grand, unpolished and dynamic sound that is lifted by a tight rhythm section. The band makes no secret of their international ambitions, and their fresh take on alternative rock has already received airplay on BBC 1 and elsewhere.

In Denmark, audiences and critics alike have also responded with enthusiasm, not least to Bænch's strong concerts, where the mix of arena rock grandeur, sing-along choruses, danceable grooves and sonic curiosity really comes alive.

See for yourself when the up-and-coming alternative rock band hits Roskilde Festival with their intense expression and excellent songs.
