Like an orange bolt from a clear blue sky, Kenny struck Danish music last summer. With the surprise album of the same name, the two star rappers Gilli and Benny Jamz instantly took the top of the Danish charts, which they dominated for the rest of the year to such an extent that the album reigned as the most popular album in Denmark throughout 2024.
Gilli and Benny Jamz have each established themselves as some of the most important voices of their generation of Danish rappers, but also draw on a great shared history – not least as part of the group B.O.C., which they form with Kesi. Kenny is a project that manages to draw on the legacy of B.O.C. and their deep hip-hop roots, but is also capable of delivering the blistering party bangers, danceable rhythms and melodic hooks that have made each of them popular hitmakers.
Despite their huge success, Gilli and Benny Jamz have not performed live with the Kenny project. Until now – when they will perform an exclusive concert at Roskilde Festival's Orange Stage. The same stage that Gilli, in his own name, took last year for a pure demonstration of power in a concert that received a top rating of 6 stars from Danish magazine Soundvenue.
If Gilli was capable of delivering an epic rap concert on the Orange Stage, he and Benny Jamz guarantee even more orange feeling. Not only because the two stars have assembled a full live band to deliver an exclusive concert for Roskilde Festival, but also because the Kenny project offers an all-orange aesthetic that is a perfect match for the iconic stage. The inspiration for the aesthetic and name comes from the series South Park and the character Kenny – an underdog who, wrapped tightly in his orange duvet jacket, always manages to get up again. And when Gilli and Benny Jamz take the Orange Stage and let hits like "Reposado" and "Booty Up" echo across the festival grounds, you can expect a show that will energise even the most tired festival body.
