Norwegian musician Øyunn is not only one of the most interesting drummers in the Nordics. She is also an artist who manages to create poetic syntheses between alternative pop, hip-hop, jazz and folk.
This was evident on her acclaimed debut album Aspects, released in 2023. The album is a captivating example of Øyunn's range, originality and personal tone that emerges in songs about relationships, hope and inner turmoil. Between hard-hitting grooves, jazzy openness and introspective, tender reflections, the music creates a rarely captivating space that has thrilled critics and led to several awards, including New Jazz Name of the Year 2024 at the Danish Music Awards.
As a drummer, she is a sought-after musician whose resumé shows great versatility. She is known from collaborations with the likes of Efterklang, Nils Frahm, Frode Haltli, and Guldimund. She has also composed music for performances at the Royal Danish Theatre and the National Theater in Norway.
On stage, Øyunn is a pure powerhouse, alternating between singing and rapping with strong vocals while keeping the drums on fire. Together with her superb band, she offers an outgoing energy that captivates the audience. Now she brings her powerful songs and infectious grooves to Roskilde Festival.
