For several years, the trio Slim0 has been haunting the Danish underground as one of the most interesting alternative rock bands. At the end of 2024, Slim0 released their long-awaited debut album Forgiveness, whose dark sound they are now bringing to Roskilde Festival.
Already with the EP Sol i øjet from 2020, Slim0 caused a stir with their experimental expression, which had roots in the rock trio format, but also drew on improv/jazz and more no wave-oriented explorations. Since then, the Copenhagen-based band has played a host of strong concerts, including at Roskilde Festival in 2022.
With Forgiveness, Simin Ramezanali, Lena Milovic and Mija Milovic, who have roots in Montenegro and Iran, add a significant new chapter to the Slim0 story. The listener is met with a strikingly original expression where doom, noise rock, minimalism, and pop culture references merge, and where the band relates to a world on fire with songs that simmer with humor, desperation, and tragedy.
Slim0 is a band that insists on rock as an open space for complex emotions and states of being, which can be felt in songs where crushing riffs and doomy heaviness are constantly contrasted by beautiful vocal harmonies, atmospheric strings, and tender ballads. We look forward to seeing the band unfold these songs live when they finally return to Roskilde Festival.
