Norway's proud tradition of exploring the extreme musical landscapes of black metal is carried further by the trio Rosa Faenskap, whose debut album Jeg blir til deg from 2023 has established them as an exciting new name on the alternative metal scene.
The classic corpse paint is replaced by eyeliner and rainbow flags by Rosa Faenskap, who use the uncompromising ferocity of black metal to declare war on homophobes and the patriarchy. At the same time, the band celebrates queer communities with music that embodies anger, pain and great beauty in a sound that combines elements of black metal and hardcore punk with dreamy layers of shoegaze and post-rock.
Their debut album garnered rave reviews and a dedicated fan base that has grown thanks to the band's rare but impressive live shows, which despite the music's explosive energy and cacophonous layers of noise, feel like an inclusive celebration of love for all quirky and misfit existences.
Now the band can finally be experienced on Danish soil when they bring their queer black metal to Roskilde Festival.
