Having only existed for a few years, Vægtløs have established themselves as one of the most interesting new names on the Danish alternative metal scene. Blending elements of black metal, post-rock and hardcore, their hard-hitting yet atmospheric sound is elevated by deeply personal lyrics and an insistence on a lyrical vulnerability rarely heard on the metal scene.
Their 2024 album, Aftryk, brilliantly illustrates both the band's musical range and their insistence on facing grief and death. Here, the band's songs thematically revolve around the experience of loss. About friends and loved ones who are struck by deadly diseases.
