WEDNESDAY 2 JULY

An unpredictable acid bath of noise, krautrock and mutate techno

  • Wednesday 2 July

For over 20 years, Texas-based artist Craig Clouse has enchanted and astonished the world with an impressive amount of releases under his alias Shit And Shine. With unpredictability, inventiveness and an eclectic approach, he has established himself as a true cult phenomenon in experimental music, collaborating with various constellations of musicians.

What started out as a noise-orientated project has mutated over time in all sorts of musical directions, ranging from warped disco and techno to weird forms of jazz, grindcore and post-punk. You never know what you'll get at Shit And Shine, but you can be sure that your musical universe will expand and you'll never get bored.

"If you're in dire need of something noisy and uncompromising then look no further: this is the good shit," wrote music site Louder Than War about Shit And Shine's latest album, Rum And Coke from 2024, an album that fully demonstrates that Craig Clouse and friends are still capable of surprising sonic attacks.

On stage, Shit And Shine delivers an uncompromising experience that shakes up musical habitual thinking. Just listen to the latest concert document Live at Café Oto, released earlier this year, which creates high expectations for Shit And Shine's visit to Roskilde Festival.
