Entering Body Void’s universe is not for the faint of heart! The Vermont band was founded in 2014 with the intention of exploring the most extreme corners of hardcore punk and doom metal. A potent mix that makes Body Void's music sound like an open wound.
Their extreme explorations have gradually taken a more experimental direction with elements of industrial and noise, drawing inspiration from the likes of Pharmakon and Killing Joke. Just listen to their 2023 album Atrocity Machine, which has been described as an imaginary soundtrack to a horror movie about late capitalism.
Body Void are not just explorers of extreme sound. They also manage to create terrifying art that lyrically revolves around anxiety, depression and gender political issues that are close to the band with several queer members. They fight against the oppression of minorities by extreme means, which is why they have chosen to use their current EP with Sunrot to raise money for the organization Black Trans Liberation.
Body Void has built a reputation as an intense live experience through diligent touring and appearances at festivals like the prestigious Roadburn. Now they hit Roskilde Festival with their gloomy sound and a brand-new album.
