Japanese superstar delivers groovy pop equilibrism at his first Danish concert

  • Friday 4 July

With his catchy songs, groovy rhythms, and sparkling keyboards, Fujii Kaze is one of the biggest pop phenomena in Japan in recent years. Playing big stadium concerts and topping the charts in his home country, he is well on his way to conquering the rest of the world with his refreshing sound.

From a very young age, he has been used to creating viral sensations, having already attracted a lot of attention at the age of 12 with YouTube videos where he interpreted well-known songs with piano and vocals. The ability to create viral hits has followed him ever since and has also paved the way for him as an international pop phenomenon, as the song "Shinunoga E-Wa" from his debut album, Help Ever Hurt Never (2020), became a viral phenomenon carried by TikTok in 2022.

2022 also saw the release of Fujii Kaze's second album Love All Serve All, which featured original compositions from Fuji Kaze, but was also accompanied by a covers album where he interpreted everything from Lady Gaga and Britney Spears to Donna Summer and Post Malone. The eclectic musician doesn't just draw on Western pop and R&B, however, having grown up in a musical family, Kaze has drawn inspiration from jazz, classical music and the Japanese enka ballad tradition. It all adds up to Kaze's distinct sound - at once Western-oriented and Japanese.

Listen to his new live album Fujii Kaze Stadium Live "Feelin' Good" or enjoy the pop musical equilibrism of his magnificent Tiny Desk session from 2024, which sets expectations high when he visits Denmark for the first time this summer at Roskilde Festival.
