Punk is not dead! On the contrary, it is currently experiencing a remarkable revival in the hands of bands like Idles and not least Irish band Fontaines D.C., who have a foot in both the raw and social indignation of punk and a more experimental post-punk aesthetic with space for dark moods, poetry and curious explorations of sound.
Already their debut album Dogrel (2019) established the Irish band's name as an undeniable force on the alternative rock scene. The album was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Award and received superlative reviews. Several acclaimed albums and, not least, a long series of magnificent concerts have lifted Fontaines D.C. to new heights. In 2022, they visited Roskilde Festival with a triumph of a concert where they truly captured the audience.
Since then, they have been signed by XL Recordings, who released the album Romance in 2024. A new milestone for the band, which scored top marks in The Guardian, where the band was praised for their ability to deliver music in the large arena format without compromising their experimental style, critical punch and poetic lyrics.
With their powerful songs and towering ambitions, they are now ready to take Roskilde by storm once again!
